Fur and fur trim: bad for the animals, bad for the environment, unnecessary for you.

Get informed. Be compassionate. Go faux.

Bad For The Animals:
Animals farmed for fur, including minks, foxes, chinchillas, rabbits, and even cats and dogs, suffer horrible lives and torturous deaths. They live in unbearably small cages with little room to move, much less exhibit any natural behaviors. Under these stressful conditions, many animals go insane, exhibiting pacing and self mutilation. Those that survive these horrid conditions meet an equally excruciating death as there are no humane slaughter laws protecting these animals. Slaughter methods include poisoning, suffocation, anal electrocution, gassing, hanging, bludgeoning, and even neck-breaking. The gruesomeness of these killing methods matters not; only preservation of the pelts is considered. This means that often, the killing methods fail or are botched and the animals are skinned alive. In undercover investigations, witnesses observed breathing, heart beats and eyelid movements for five to ten minutes after the skin was stripped from the animals’ bodies.

Unnecessary For You:
Luckily for all, there are many compassionate alternatives so there are no reasons to buy or wear fur coats, fur trim or fur of any kind. Donate old furs to animal groups, educate others about the facts of fur, support fur-free retailers and stand up for the animals!
